Hello

Things are looking a bit different, we decided after six years as SSP Media we needed a change.

Why? because SSP stood for Skint Student Productions, which was fitting when we were young and new filmmakers, but we’ve grown up a bit since then.

We chose Copa because we are forged in Wales and it's at the heart of who we are, and what we do. Copa means summit in Welsh and it represents us as people, our work and love of the landscape.

How we started.

Director Osian Williams set up the company when he was just 20 years old whilst studying at Bangor University for a Masters in Filmmaking.

Osian has since gained significant Welsh industry recognition, receiving a BAFTA Cymru award and is named in the Top 35 under 35 business men in Wales 2018.

Over the years the team has expanded to become a tight knit group of creatives, coming from a range of backgrounds and experience.  The teams diverse talents means we’ve taken on ambitious, daring and wide ranging projects across TV, film, online and corporate work, and we’ve grown to offer specialist services such as drone filming.

What we’ve done so far.

We’re proud to create Welsh and English factual programming with and for national broadcasters for audiences to enjoy.

We've created bilingual campaign videos for a wide range of arts organisations, charities and businesses helping to raise funds, awareness and create conversations about subjects that really matter.

Our love of Welsh artists and culture means we’ve shot music videos for The People The Poet, Swnami, Kizzy Crawford, and Candelas and filmed at national events including the National and Urdd Eisteddfod.

Work has taken us as far afield as Guatemala, New York, Siberia, Kenya and Zambia, but we always come home, as we are a passionate Welsh company creating great content in and for Wales.

What’s Next?

We are excited to be in the planning stages of setting up a North Wales office in Felinheli by the end of 2018 and New York in late 2019 as we want to work more globally.

Osian says; "I'm really excited to see what the future holds for our team at Copa. It's been brilliant to see the support we've had over the past couple of years.

This rebrand is a natural step for us as we want to focus more on our Welsh roots as a company. Without Wales and the Welsh language, we wouldn't have had the opportunities we've had, so it is a part of who we are and are proud of that".

Shwmae!

Mae pethau yn edrych bach yn wahanol, ar ôl chwe blynedd fel SSP Media, rydyn ni wedi penderfynu newid.

Pam? Oherwydd roedd SSP yn sefyll am ‘Skint Student Productions’, addas ar y pryd, ond rydyn ni wedi tyfu fynnu ers hynny

Rydyn ni wedi dewis yr enw Copa oherwydd rydyn ni o Gymru ac ma fe yn ein calonnau ni. Mae’r gair Copa yn adlewyrchu pwy ydym ni fel pobol ac ein gwaith.

Y Dechrau

Fe ddechreuodd y cwmni gan Osian Williams pan odd en 20 mlwydd oed wrth iddo astudio ym mhrifysgol Bangor.

Ers hynny, mae Osian wedi derbyn clod yn y diwydiant, wrth ennill BAFTA Cymru a chael ei enwi yn rhestr ‘Top 35 under 35 business men in Wales 2018.’

Dros y blynyddoedd, mae’r tîm wedi tyfu i fod yn grŵp o bobol greadigol, yn dod o gefndiroedd gwahanol. Mae talent amrywiol y tîm yn golygu bod ni wedi cymryd ar nifer o brosiectau mawr ac uchelgeisiol yn ffilm, teledu a gwaith ar lein. Rydyn ni hefyd wedi tyfu i gynnig gwaith arbenigol fel ffilmio drôn.

Beth rydyn ni wedi neud cyn belled

Rydyn ni’n falch i weithio ar raglenni dogfen Cymraeg a Saesneg i nifer o ddarlledwyr dros y wlad.

Rydyn ni wedi creu fideos dwyieithog ar gyfer nifer o gwmnïau a sefydlai celf ac elusennol er mwyn codi arian ac ymwybyddiaeth ar gyfer nifer o bynciau gwahanol a phwysig.

Rydyn ni wedi creu nifer o fideos cerddoriaeth i fandiau Cymraeg fel Swnami, Kizzy Crawford, The People The Poet a Candelas. Rydyn ni wedi bod yn ddigon ffodus i ffilmio digwyddiadau mawr gan gynnwys yr Eisteddfod genedlaethol ac Urdd.

Mae ein gwaith wedi cymryd ni dros y byd i lefydd fel Guatemala, Efrog Newydd, Siberia, Kenya a Zambia, ond rydyn ni bob amser yn dod adre, oherwydd rydyn ni’n gwmni Cymraeg sydd yn pwysleisio ar greu deunydd yng Nghymru ac yn bellach.

Beth sydd nesa?

Rydyn ni’n gyffroes i fod yn y broses o agor swyddfa yng Ngogledd Cymru erbyn diwedd 2018 ac un yn Efrog Newydd diwedd 2019 er mwyn i ni gadw at ein haddewid o gymryd Cymru i’r byd.

Dywedwyd Osian am yr ail frandio “Rydw i’n gyffroes iawn i weld be ma’r dyfodol yn gallu cynnig i dîm Copa. Ma fe di bod yn grêt i weld y gefnogaeth rydyn ni wedi cal dros y blynyddoedd diwethaf…”

Mae’r ail brandio yma yn gam naturiol i ni fel cwmni oherwydd rydyn ni eisiau canolbwyntio ar ein gwreiddiau Cymraeg. Heb Gymru ar iaith Gymraeg, fyddwn ni ddim wedi cal y cyfleoedd sydd wedi dod i ni, felly mae fe’n rhan bwysig iawn o bwy ydyn ni ac rydyn ni’n falch iawn o hwnna.”
